Is it free?
Yes: 2 floor plans per day without signing up. Paid plans add more; see the pricing page.
How accurate are the sizes?
The numbers on the plan come straight from the layout, so room sizes, areas and the total always add up. The layout itself is an AI suggestion, not a surveyed or engineered drawing.
Can I use feet instead of metres?
Yes. Write the size in square feet (for example "about 900 sq ft") and switch the units to ft². Lengths are then shown in feet and inches.
Why did my request fail?
Very unusual or very large requests sometimes produce layouts that fail our checks twice. Failed attempts do not count against your free or paid generations. Try a shorter description or a different size.
Do you keep my descriptions?
We do not store your descriptions or plans in a database. To create the layout, your description is sent to an AI model through OpenRouter, which handles it under its own privacy terms. The finished plan is drawn in your browser.
Can I edit the plan?
Download the SVG and open it in any vector editor (Figma, Illustrator, Inkscape); every room is a separate shape with its own label.
Does every room show dimensions?
Yes. Each room is labelled with its name, width, depth and area. You also get a room table and the total area.
Can TextFloorPlan draw rooms that aren't rectangular?
The output uses rectangular rooms aligned with the drawing's horizontal and vertical axes.
Will my floor plan match the area I request?
The layout check allows a total area within 10% of your request. The three examples above matched exactly.
Can I buy plans without a subscription?
Yes. A one-time pack gives you 40 floor plans for $4.90.
