How the space is divided

The Corridor (5.4 m × 2.9 m / 169 ft²) is the largest room and sits between the Living Room (5.4 m × 4.1 m / 238 ft²) and the Entry Hall (2.2 m × 3.6 m / 85 ft²). The Entry Hall connects to the Kitchen & Dining (4.2 m × 3.4 m / 154 ft²), Bedroom 2 (4.4 m × 2.7 m / 128 ft²), and Bathroom (2.0 m × 2.6 m / 56 ft²). The Living Room shares a wall with the Kitchen & Dining (3.4 m), but there is no door between them, so the Kitchen & Dining is reached through the Entry Hall.

Who this layout suits

This plan suits a couple or small family wanting separate sleeping spaces: Bedroom 1 (5.2 m × 2.7 m / 151 ft²) and Bedroom 2 (4.4 m × 2.7 m / 128 ft²) share a wall (2.7 m) and are placed apart via the Corridor and Entry Hall. The Kitchen & Dining (4.2 m × 3.4 m / 154 ft²) is compact but includes a dining area, and the Laundry Closet (2.0 m × 1.0 m / 22 ft²) is accessed from the Entry Hall, keeping laundry out of the main rooms.

How to adapt it

To create an open living area, remove the wall between the Living Room and Kitchen & Dining (shared wall 3.4 m). This would make a combined space of about 5.4 m × 4.1 m plus 4.2 m × 3.4 m but would require rerouting the door from the Kitchen & Dining to the Entry Hall. Alternatively, widen the Bathroom (2.0 m × 2.6 m / 56 ft²) into the Laundry Closet (shared wall 2.0 m) to create a larger bathroom with laundry space, losing the separate closet. Merging Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 (shared wall 2.7 m) could create a single large bedroom of 5.2 m × 2.7 m plus 4.4 m × 2.7 m, but eliminates the second bedroom.
