How the space is divided

The Entry Hall (6.1 m²) leads directly into the Living Room (20.1 m²) and Bedroom 1 (14.0 m²), while a Corridor (16.0 m²) connects to the other rooms. The Kitchen + Dining (16.2 m²) and Living Room share a 4.9 m wall, and the Kitchen + Dining also adjoins the Laundry (5.0 m²) and both Bathrooms (5.3 m² and 5.0 m²). Bedrooms 2 and 3 (each 11.9 m²) are linked by a shared wall and open onto the Corridor, which also serves Bathroom 2. The trade-off is that the Corridor uses 16.0 m² of space, reducing the size of the bedrooms and service areas.

Who this layout suits

This plan suits a small family or couple who want separate bedrooms and two bathrooms. The Living Room at 216 ft² and Kitchen + Dining at 174 ft² provide generous common areas, while each bedroom is at least 128 ft², enough for a double bed and closet. The Laundry (5.0 m²) and two bathrooms (5.3 m² and 5.0 m²) add convenience, but the Corridor (16.0 m²) is a significant circulation space that may feel wasteful. It works well for those who prioritize indoor living and hosting over maximizing bedroom size.

How to adapt it

One option is to widen the Kitchen + Dining by taking space from the adjacent Laundry (5.0 m²) or Bathroom 1 (5.3 m²) if they share a wall, but this would shrink those service rooms. Another is to merge Bedroom 2 and Bedroom 3 (each 11.9 m²) by removing the shared wall, creating a large bedroom or a bedroom plus home office, but you would lose one bedroom. You could also reduce the Corridor (16.0 m²) by moving the wall with Bedroom 2 or Bedroom 3 to add closet space, but this would make the corridor narrower. Each change trades space from one function to another, so decide which room is less critical.
