How the space is divided

The open-concept Kitchen, Dining Area, and Living Room form the main shared zone, with the Living Room at 23.8 m² being the largest room, connected to the Dining Area and Kitchen through doors. The private quarters include Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2, each 2.5 m wide, separated by a shared wall and accessed via the Entry Hall and Corridor. The Laundry Room and Storage are grouped near the Corridor and Closet, while the two Bathrooms sit between the Living/Dining and the Laundry/Storage, sharing walls with each other and the Closet. The Corridor and Entry Hall connect the public and private zones, with the Entry Hall also serving as the main entrance.

Who this layout suits

This plan suits a small family or a couple who want separate bedrooms and a spacious open living area. Bedroom 1 at 14.2 m² is larger than Bedroom 2 at 12.0 m², so it could be a primary suite, though neither has an en-suite bathroom. The two Bathrooms (5.3 m² and 4.1 m²) are placed near the living areas rather than the bedrooms, which may require walking across the home. The Laundry Room and Storage provide practical utility space, appealing to homeowners who value organization.

How to adapt it

Widening the Kitchen from its current 3.1 m width to 4.0 m would require taking space from the adjacent Closet, since they share a 3.3 m wall, but this would reduce the Closet's area. Alternatively, the Laundry Room could be merged with the Storage by removing the shared 1.6 m wall, creating a larger utility room, though this would eliminate the separate Storage. The Corridor could be narrowed slightly to enlarge the adjacent Closet, but this would affect the passageway width. Moving the wall between Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 (shared 2.5 m) could balance their sizes, but one would gain space at the other's expense.
